Shri Anjaneya Temple, Baalehonoor

A small temple dedicated to Shri Hanuman, also known as Anjaneya (son of Anjani) and Mukhyaprana (the chief life force), stands in Baalehonoor, a small town home to around 40 GSB families. The idol of Hanuman is adorned with a silver covering.

In 1876, Sahukar K. P. Subraya Prabhu built a simple shelter over a Hanuman idol that he had found near his house. By the grace of God, his business flourished. Later, his son, Shrinivas Prabhu, constructed a small temple at the site and arranged for two daily pujas to be performed. In 1947, a next generation family member, K. P. Mukund Prabhu, expanded the structure into a proper temple.

The main festivals celebrated at the temple are Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanti.
